Boxing Day No Dissapointment

No doubt, the match of the day was Arsenal-Aston Villa round two, with Villa's Zat Knight providing a stoppage time equalizer to grab a draw against the Gunners, who were up 2-0. The draw was more of a win for Villa given the comeback, and the boys from Birmingham will stay three points clear of Arsenal in fourth place.

Although Manchester City's 5-1 thrashing of Hull City did not provide the same drama, it was certainly an entertaining afair - entertaining to watch Manchester City carve-up Hull, that is. Stephen Ireland had his way with the Tigers defense all day, and his assists to Felipe Caicedo for the game's first two goals were almost identical plays.

There were several other interesting results as well, including including Wigan defeating Newcastle in a mid-table tussle, and Fulham holding on for a draw at White Hart Lane.

Man. U 1 - 0 Stoke City
Chelsea 2 - 0 West Brom
West Ham 4 - 1 Portsmouth

Liverpool 3 - 0 Bolton
Man. City 5 - 1 Hull City
Everton 1 - 0 Middlesborough
